WHO IS KLAN RÚNDA?
Obviously we make Celtic, Norse, and Viking inspired art and furnishings, by let us step out of the workshop for a moment, brush off some sawdust, and tell you a little bit more about who we are, the art we create, and why we're so passionate about creating it.
Who we are...
We are Jeremy and Rebekah and we started Klan Rúnda in the fall of 2019. It really started quite simply as a small line of Celtic art offered by Jeremy's existing wood art business. The demand for the Celtic style as well as how much we enjoyed making it quickly launched us into making Celtic, Norse, and Viking inspired wood art our focus.
We are a family business where everyone has their niche. Jeremy does much of the design and artwork, while Bekah does painting, leatherwork, sewing and many of the other finishing touches that each piece gets. Jerett is our production guy....when we need to create an inventory of a certain piece for an event, Jerett is the guy who knocks out all the rough shapes and prepares them for finishing.
Jadent and Jaelyn are also learning various aspects of our trade and pitch in at live events like it was second nature.
One thing we all pride ourselves in is making sure that each and every piece or art, from the smallest candle holder to the most intricate Viking shield, is an heirloom quality piece of art in it's own right. We want our customers to enjoy their art from the moment they receive it, to seeing it displayed or using it every day, to passing it on to their children and family someday.
We enjoy what we do and we think it shows in everything we create. From jewelry to full size thrones and Viking tents, we only use quality materials and finishing methods. From the use of hand selected solid wood to top full grain leather, there is never a corner cut with any of our pieces.
About Jeremy and Bekah
There are many reasons we do what we do. Obviously we love art and being creative, and we really like working with earthy mediums such as wood and leather. We also really enjoy the culture of the Ren Faires and other events and festivals that we get to take our art to. But there is another major reason we have chosen to make art and woodworking our livelihood...
You see, both of us (Jeremy and Bekah) have separate conditions that make it difficult to work a 'traditional' 9-5 job. A chronic illness and PTSD have tried unsuccessfully to hold us both back. Instead, they have given us incentive to find a lifestyle that not only can support us, but one which will make living with these conditions far more endurable....even extra rewarding as we can support each other while we work together every day.
We count ourselves as blessed to have been able to create a life that is enjoyable and healthy for us both! It is this gratitude that makes us excited to give back.
